Cambridge College specializes in providing degrees for adult learners. The school is based out of Boston, Massachusetts, but offers classes through satellite campuses and online. Students can choose from a number of graduate and undergraduate degrees, and the offerings depend on which campus the student is attending.

Online students may pursue an undergraduate degree in healthcare management, management studies or managerial accounting. Online students may also seek an MBA or an MBA with an emphasis on healthcare.

Students who attend the Boston campus have the most options for degree programs. The Cambridge College home campus offers 13 undergraduate programs and numerous graduate and certificate programs. Undergraduates can study fields like healthcare management, criminal justice, psychology, managerial accounting, and multidisciplinary studies. Graduate programs are offered in education, management and psychology and counseling. A post-graduate certificate program is offered in drug and alcohol counseling. Most of these programs are also offered at the Cambridge College Massachusetts campuses in Lawrence and Springfield as well as the campus in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

Cambridge College also offers courses in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. This campus does not provide access to undergraduate degrees. Students at this campus can earn graduate degrees in a variety of subjects. They can seek masters in education degrees with a focus on autism specialist, educational administration, elementary education, health, librarianship, mathematics, special education or teaching English as a second language. Graduate classes are also offered in business management, technology management, and mental health counseling.

Most classes offered through the home and satellite campuses are offered as hybrid courses. These classes are partially online and partially in-seat. Classes are offered at varying times in order to offer the most flexibility to adult learners.

Cambridge College was established in 1971 at the Institute of Open Education at Newton College of the Sacred Heart. The college became an independent institution in the early 1980s.

Cambridge College Accreditation Details

Cambridge College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. This accreditation approves of all undergraduate and graduate degrees offered by the home campus, the online campus and satellite schools.

Teacher education courses at Cambridge College have been awarded the TEAC accreditation by the Inquiry Brief Commission of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. This accreditation is re-evaluated every five years. It applies only to degree programs and does not apply to individual courses or any licenses.

Cambridge College Application Requirements

All applicants must complete the standard online application regardless of the program they choose to study. They must also provide high transcripts or proof of GED completion. If other colleges or universities have been attended, prospective should have official transcripts sent to the college. Students must also provide a letter of recommendation to be considered for admission.

Prospective students of the School of Education must show proof of an earned bachelor’s degree. They must provide two recommendations that address professional character and ability to perform the required duties of a graduate student. They must also have a current CV or resume.

Students interested in attending the School of Management must complete the application, provide recommendations and a resume, show proof of an undergraduate degree and complete an in-person interview. Students must also a two-page personal statement addressing their educational goals.

Those interested in the School of Psychology and Counseling may need to provide proof of a high school degree, an undergraduate degree or a master’s degree depending on which program they wish to enter. They must also offer two professional letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a resume. Like applicants to the business school, psychology and counseling students must complete an in-person interview.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition and fees vary based on the location of the campus and the program of study. All students are eligible for financial aid if they are enrolled in a minimum of six credits each term for undergraduates or four credits per term for graduate students.

Undergraduate students at the Boston, Springfield and Lawrence campuses are charged $449 per credit hour. Graduate charges range from $574 to $995 per credit hour depending on the course of study. Additional fees may accrue for health insurance, course materials, lab usage, field experience, and other miscellaneous areas.

Undergraduate students attending the Southern California campus in Rancho Cucamonga are charged at a rate of $430 per credit hour. The cost of attending graduate courses at the Southern California campus ranges from $567 to $618 per credit hour. Possible additional fees at this campus include course materials, lab fees, portfolio evaluation, research fees, and field experience fees.

The Cambridge College Puerto Rico campus charges $324 per credit hour or programs in the School of Education and the School of Psychology and Counseling. Students enrolled in the Management School are charged $282 per credit hour. Internships and research fees may be added to the cost of attendance. Cambridge College provides a 100 percent tuition waiver for members of the National Guard of Puerto Rico and their families.

Online students are charged $449 per credit hour for undergraduate courses and $658 per hour for graduate courses. Fees are applied for language tests, credit card payments, lab fees, portfolio evaluation, graduation, and any late payments. Alumni of Cambridge College can receive 25 percent off the cost of tuition for up to six credits. Active duty military personnel are charged at the federal tuition assistance program rate.

All students, regardless of location, should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, in order to determine if they qualify for federal grants. The FAFSA may also be used for student loans and need-based scholarships. Cambridge College offers need-based scholarship awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Students can also use external scholarships from private entities to help pay tuition costs.
